Regulatory environment for IoT in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is one of the leading regions in the development of digital economy and the adoption of IoT technology. A new IoT Code of Practice has been released to to increase data security awareness among the end users while also raising the security level of the IoT devices entering the market. The present paper aims to provide a high-level overview of the Code of Practice, the most relevant privacy provisions and the dedicated wireless IoT licensing regime developed by the regulator.
