Importance of CNC education in mechanical engineering training

The computer aided manufacturing is both of part of the present and the future. The manufacturing processes aided by CAM systems are one of the base pillar of Industry 4.0. My article highlihts to the importance of the education based on NC-CNC technology. I present the birth, development and present of the relevant training. I explain the structure of the education, the related subjects and the acquirable competences. I outline a possible developing direction of the education of which the NC-CNC technology is also a part. By summarizing Industry 4.0 I justify the importance of CNC training in mechanical engineering education as well as the necessarity of CNC development.
